After spending almost forty years building and repairing boats on Smith Cove, I’ve spent the last twelve painting full time. My first work was a 4‘x18’ mural of Smith Cove, which hangs on the building that houses my gallery at 15 Rocky Neck Ave. I then proceeded in painting 147 oil paintings, concentrating on showing Gloucester’s history. My last work before escaping Gloucester for the winter in 2008 was a 4‘x24’ mural of Smith Cove, a full circle of the cove, between the two murals. On my other website www.ladarts.com I have set my paintings into the written history
of Gloucester starting with Samuel de Champlains first visit in 1606, and showing the fishing industry changes through the years. So if you plan a trip to Gloucester, Ma., please visit my site and get a taste of what you will find, and if you get the chance stop into my Gallery at 15 Rocky Neck Ave. during your stay.
