I was born in Louisiana, and spent my early childhood moving from state to state until settling in New Jersey in third grade. My leanings toward art were placed on the back burner while I focused on high school, college, and making a living. Then, my artistic impulses came out--I painted a tropical island paradise in the garage as a consolation for rained out picnics. Hence, at the advanced age of 48, I began my art training. I continue to take courses, fitting them in around a full-time job and family obligations. I also learn by doing, creating paintings from scenes that inspire me.
I sold my first painting in 2005, and have had paintings accepted into several juried shows. I am also a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Trenton Artists Workshop Association (TAWA), ArtsBridge, and the Princeton Arts Council.
