I graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1982 after gaining a Degree with Honours in Design, specialising in Printed Textiles. After teaching art in a High School for ten years in Scotland, I immigrated to Australia where I have taught adults drawing and silk painting at TAFE Colleges.
I am currently teaching art in a private College in the Gold Coast, Queensland. I have always loved art since I was very young and was always drawing. Silk painting is one of the most satisfying and exciting art forms that I have worked with and I particularly enjoy the fresh, jewel-like quality of the colours and their transparency when held up to the light, almost like a stained-glass window.
I also enjoy photography, computer graphics, pastel and graphite drawings and my inspiration comes from the abundance of flora & fauna in Australia and my love of cats.
