Inspired by my high school fine arts teacher and a private art teacher, I have always enjoyed drawing and painting. While I started with oils, I have also painted with acrylics, pen and ink, and now focus on pastels. After I received an associate degree in art, I continued to take private lessons and workshops and to also enter my works in art shows. During this time my teenage daughter, also taking art lessons, started creating amazing works in pastel! My daughter inspired and motivated me to try pastels. Once I tried it I was hooked! I love the quickness and spontaneity pastels offer.
I've had great success participating in juried art shows including 2 solo shows. I continue to show my work and love the exposure the exhibitions offer.
I also had the great pleasure of becoming a partner in the Art on Broadway Gallery, in Redwood City. I'm a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the San Carlos Fine Arts Association.
I really do believe that painting landscapes is a wonderful way to paint memories of all the places I have been in my life.
