I have always been fascinated by faces, human and animal, young and old. There is so much in a face: the life one has led, or the possibilities of a life yet to come.
I strive with each portrait to capture not only the likeness of the person or companion, but their personality and experiences as well.
I do not want to merely copy a form, a photograph can do that - I want to make the life and the spark of each painting leap from the canvas.
Until that happens, the portrait is not complete.
Some portraits are of companions who have passed away and who live on in a loving gaze and a fondly remembered face.

I do not allow galleries to represent me - galleries take up to 50% or even 60% of the selling price! This would raise my prices tremendously. I have resigned from all the galleries that displayed my work - the internet allows me to reach you personally with no middleman.

If you are looking for an artist whom you can talk to personally, and who gets to know and really care about the people and animals that are depicted on her canvases, you've come to the right place.

I am not an artist who has awards and ribbons, and a list of higher education degrees . . .

. . . The awards I value are the emails from clients that are overjoyed that the painting surpasses the photo that was sent and clients who can gaze at a portrait of their beloved pet and remember the good times, even though their companion has crossed the rainbow bridge.

. . . The recognition I appreciate is from the mothers and fathers who have commissioned portraits of their children who are growing up so fast, but are caught on canvas forever young, lively and able to be sent to their room .

The letters, cards and emails I get from clients are more precious to me than any art association award or 'recognition' could ever be.

I make every effort to keep my commission rates low enough that the new young husband can suprise his wife with a wedding portrait, or the couple who have been together for years can afford a golden anniversary portrait. All portaits are created from the highest quality artist's materials in time-honored techniques for a fraction of what you might expect.
