Blessed with BiPolar disorder, Louie freely shares his changing moods as demonstrated in his photographs which range from bold powerful abstracts to gentle soft florals.
'The images I capture directly reflect whatever mood I'm experiencing at any given moment. I'm an outspoken advocate for mental health issues, specifically BiPolar disorder. There is still a lot of misunderstanding and stigma/shame regarding mental health issues. I'm not ashamed - it's just part of what makes me, me. I feel blessed (and cursed) as this disease allows me to experience higher highs and lower lows than most people. If I have a camera in my hands, I can create something beautiful from something that is often very painful. Often, the camera is my only voice when I feel trapped within my mind. I do hope that you enjoy my photographs and I thank 'The Commons' for allowing me to share my voice.'
