Hi, my name is Lowell and I have been painting since around 1988, when I found myself without a TV for awhile and discovered my visual imagination was endlessly more entertaining. I am a graduate of the University of Texas and worked for years in Austin as a Sound Engineer before realizing my passion in visual arts, specifically oil painting. I am primarily an impressionist, with an attachment to cubism, and I love abstract art. Early in my painting career I developed the method I term 'Matrix Pointelism' which involves meticulously reproducing the dot matrix of newsprint photos, usually of celebrities. As this is a separate style altogether, and moreover takes a great deal of time to create, I market my Matrix Pointelist works under the pseudonym 'Luis Sabor'. For the last decade or so I have resided in Tucson, Arizona and have fallen in love with the Sonoran desert. My greatest bodies of work reflect this love of the Southwest : 'Adobeville' featuring various homes in desert locales, and 'Broncs & Cowboys' featuring horses and horsemen in action. I would love to be a self-sufficient artist, but my greatest wish is to find homes for my creations where they will be enjoyed as much as I have enjoyed creating them. Please contact me if any image speaks to you.
