Thank you for stopping by to see my art-work. I'm a self taught batik artist based in Kampala, Uganda.
I live in a small village 15km on the main highway South of the Ugandan capital in an area that is near a big swamp on one side and a tropical forest on the other. This provides me with endless possibilities from nature. In my subjects I try to study different relationships that exist within nature itself. I particularly study the effects of sunlight on other aspects of nature. Shadows cast by the sunlight on leaves and the glitter that comes on ponds within the forest inspire me a lot.
Apart from nature, I'm also inspired by food of different kind particularly grains. My recent work has been inspired by broken sphagetti, pumpkin seeds and coffee beans. Fish is also a favorite subject. My batik art is mostly on cotton and silk fabrics but also on paper. Some of my originals featured here are for sale and commissions are accepted as well.
