I have been photographing landscapes for 15 years, mostly in New Mexico. I did special studies courses in composition and lighting at UNM Albuquerque. I also studied at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. I find the beauty in nature very compelling. The primal landscapes of New Mexico never cease to inspire me. Roads are a particular interest to me. I like crusing the back roads and finding unique scenes to share through my work.
I got started while doing land suveying and used a point and shoot camera at first. After taking some classes, I purchased a Nikon FM 2 manual camera. I shoot slide film. I have been inspired by Elliot Porter and Galen Rowell. I recognize the patterns in chaos and the patterns in nature. I love the New Mexico light, and I continue to try to reproduce the feeling I get when I'm out shooting. I like finding unexpected beauty around each bend in the road.
My work is exhibited at Taos Homegrown Gallery and at Enchanted Dreams Foundation Gallery, also in Taos.
