Marc L. Gagnon is a full time watercolour and acrylic painter and a popular painting workshop instructor. He has been painting for over 30 years, has exhibited extensively, and is a past president of Canada's national water colour society, The Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.
Marc is both a studio and plein aire painter, his paintings exhibit dramatic compositions, contrasting values, clean simple washes, interlocking shapes and bold calligraphic strokes and textures. The subjects of his paintings are drawn from his travels and everyday observations. The subject matter is never simply illustrated, but re-interpreted or abstracted to a degree that points out clearly the subjects essence, mystery or beauty.
