Marcelo Holzinger is a Contemporary Visual Artist from Miami who has worked for over 20 years as an artist and designer.

Marcelo attended college in Buenos Aires where he graduated with a degree in Advertising & Design. While in school he became Art Director of an advertising agency, and also Adjunct Professor of Graphic Arts at the University of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of Buenos Aires.

His dreams led him to explore the world. In his early 20's he traveled throughout South America, Europe and the United States. The mix of cultures, history, art, architecture, and the people that he encountered in his travels strongly touched his heart, and greatly impacted him as a person and as an artist.

Since he felt so enriched and excited exploring the world, Marcelo embarked on an even bigger adventure; in the mid 1990’s he left his beloved Argentina and moved to New York – a city he had fallen in love with – alone, with just a backpack, his CD player and an English dictionary. He worked as a Graphic Designer for various publications, and continued to pursue his passion for art and design.

After several great years in New York, Marcelo moved to Miami Beach, where he refined his artistic skills and worked as a creative consultant for various businesses and organizations. Next, his professional journey led him to Houston, Texas, where he launched his career as a professional artist – marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his life.

In 2010 Marcelo returned to Miami, and became very actively involved on the forefront of Miami’s art scene. He has participated in many prominent art fairs, shows and events, including: Masters Mystery Art Show at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach (Art Basel 2011); Miami River Art Fair (Art Basel 2012-2013); Designer For The Stars at the Miami Home Design Show; Meet The Artist Series at DCOTA Design Center of The Americas; and Spectrum (Art Basel editions 2014-2015) – among many, many others.

Marcelo has been selected to create original artwork for many prominent events and organizations, including: Unity Coalition’s Legend’s Ball Gala (Jackie Gleason Theater and Art Deco Welcome Center Miami); Global Charity Trust Gala 2014; and Pink Flamingo Awards 2014-2015 (Miami Beach Convention Center).

He co-hosted a successful Gala Honoring City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado for his outstanding support of the Arts, for which Marcelo created a portrait of the Mayor which was unveiled in a ceremonial dedication. He participated in the Ellen DeGeneres Art Show in Los Angeles, and has also painted for acclaimed entertainment personalities such as Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, Univision TV news anchor Eileen Cardet, and Argentine music legend Leon Gieco.

Over the past few years, Marcelo’s work was exhibited in several international art fairs: Art Monaco, Monte Carlo; the 16th Annual Beijing International Art Exposition, Beijing, China; Art Latino Dans Le Monde, Liège, Belgium (in which he was Awarded “Most Original Artwork” in the exhibition); and Carrousel du Louvre, at the Louvre Museum, Paris. Marcelo’s work has been acquired by private and corporate collections, including the Art Collection of the City of Miami.

Marcelo has been selected as Art Curator for several private exhibitions and fundraisers, and has participated as a member of Jurist panels, evaluating the work of aspiring young artists. He strongly supports charitable causes and feels fortunate to be able to give back to his community whenever he can.

In 2014, Marcelo was honored with a Proclamation as Distinguished Citizen of the City of Miami 'in recognition of his exceptional artistic accomplishments, his valuable contribution to the cultural life of our community and his extraordinary acts of humanitarianism and philanthropic spirit toward humankind' by City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado.

In 2015 Marcelo was appointed by the Mayor of Miami to serve as a Board Member of the Miami Arts & Entertainment Council. He also serves as Member of the Cultural Art Advisory Committee for World OutGames Miami 2017.

In 2015, Marcelo was recognized by the Honorable City Council of Santa Fe, Argentina, in recognition of his 'career, artistic accomplishments and contributions as a Santa Fe native and ambassador of the city in the world.”

With art shows throughout the USA, and world-class exhibitions in Europe and Asia, Marcelo has been receiving national and international attention – he has been featured in numerous publications, TV and other media, including The Miami Herald, CNN Español, Univision TV Network, Upscale Living Magazine, NBC Miami, Fine Art Magazine (40th Anniversary Edition Honoring Heroes of Creativity) and many others.
