Marco Turini, an artist and writer from Pontedera, near Pisa, got his interest in comics through his father, who was a letterer on the famous ‘Tex’ series. He began his career in the early 1990s, drawing for the Boomerang fanzine, and for the daily Il Tirreno.
Since the mid-1990s, he is a regular contributor of stories to the Selen review of the 3ntini publishing, either on his own scripts or in cooperation with Alessio Schreiner and other writer.
In 1994 drawing ”Desdy Metus” for B.B.D. Press.
In 1997 He has also done ‘Santiago’, ‘Samuel Sand’ and cover illustrations for Star Comics.
In 2000 Launched the character ‘Claudia Poe’ ( draw and write ) on the internet (through Lycos.it), but she has subsequently appeared in dailies like Il Tirreno, La Nazione, Quotiano.net and Il Centro, on radio, television (local TV and MTV) and in a comic book called ‘I Sogni di Claudia’ (Titivillus edizioni, 2002) and he has drawn for Miss Italia Magazine.
In 1998-2009 Turini has additionally cooperated with Fantagraphics ( Usa ), Avatar Press ( Usa), Eura Ed. ( italy ), Coniglio ed ( in important magazine ”Blue”) and Glenat ( France ) as well as the daily Il Centro and Corriere di Bilt. His ‘Elio e Luna’ series appeared in dailies like La Nazione, Il Resto del Carlino and Il Giorno ( the most important newspaper in Italy ).
In recent years he has draw and write ”Sesso Alieno” ( Coniglio ed.) ”E.V.A. ( Free Books ) and draw ” Terminal Alice ” writtend by J. Kauffaman. Currently draws for Marvel Comics ( Squadron Supreme and Marvel Comics Present ), Big Foot Entertainment and Star Comics ( cover for N.o.x., sequential art for ”Nuvole Nere” and ”Cornelio” ).
Turini teaching drawing and animation from 1990s, have founded in 2000 Dream Machine Project ( school of sequantil art and animation ), and have teaching in some Istitute ( San Miniato, Castelfranco, Pontedera ) and some private school ( Nemo NT of Florence, Dream Machine Project in Pontedera, Arci in Ponte a Egola and other).
