Marilyn was born in the Southwest and spent her early years in Cuxhaven, Germany. Her experiences there instilled a deep appreciation for art, nature, and traditional cultures. After returning to the United States, she attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where she studied fine arts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting.
