Marina was raised in the Southend-on-Sea, Essex area of England, relocating to Vancouver for 8 years before moving to Kelowna in 2003. During this time she sketched but did not discover soft pastels until early 2006. As well as studying with pastel artist Tina Siddiqui, she has also recently become involved with the Livessence Society of the Okanagan and has exhibited in three group shows.
Marina's work exhibits her fascination with light and how it can be portrayed using the pastel medium. Her subject matter includes child portraits, landscapes and still life. She has recently expanded the size of her pastel paintings to 19x25 as well as 22x30 for her mixed media (watercolor and pastels) work. As well as originals, Marina prepares archival quality matted prints on fine art paper.
