My name is Marius.. I've been in love with photography ever since I was a child and my father gave me a russian-made Omega toy camera for my 10th birthday. I didn't have much money to spend on film or developing, so I took my time with every shot in an effort to avoid waste. I took apart my first SLR camera, a Chinon brand, because I was curious to see how it worked. I managed to get it back together, but like a bad mechanic, I was left with a dozen tiny screws on the table and a camera that leaked light.
Through books and magazines I taught myself the basics, and school taught me the chemical process and darkroom technique. Today however, I shoot in digital and process everything in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, though sometimes I miss the old days of mixing chemicals and rolling film onto a stainless steel spooler in complete darkness.
