Mark Barnett was born in Decatur, IL. I was an Army brat and moved around the U.S. extensively. I've lived in the following U.S. States: Illinois, Alaska, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. I've lived in Texas since the age of 10 - we moved here in 1970. I attended schools in Baytown, TX. and studied art at Lee College. I worked many years as both a professional artist and a welder. I have a strong interest in the Texas Revolution of the 1830's and Texas history in general - (this is mostly what I paint).
