'I believe I have been drawing horses since the day I could hold a crayon in my hand .... '
I have always been drawn to animals and spent much of my childhood collecting stray dogs, cats, an occasional squirrel and injured
birds. All the while studying and learning to draw them at the same time. In the mid 80's after studying art at The Savannah College of art and Design as well as The Art Institute of Atlanta I went on to paint murals and spent the next 15 years painting murals all over
the southeast as well as an occasional trip west. It wasn't until 2001 that 'real' horses came into my life and as my husband likes to say 'changed our lives forever'. I got my first Horse, Indy -- a good ole quarter horse, and I was off and running! In 2005 we sold our home in the suburbs of Atlanta and headed for the beautiful country surrounding Madison Ga. In the last several years we have collected 4 more horses, 2 donkeys, 2 goats, chickens ( numbers vary day to day) and of course numerous dogs and cats! It is a busy and blessed life and I am inspired
every day by the engaging characters I am now surrounded by. Since 2005 I have stepped away from the mural business and focused more on the animals and nature that have become so much a part of my life. It's my goal in every painting to convey the character and personality of my subjects and pass it on the viewers hoping they can catch a glimpse of what I enjoy so much everyday.
