Mary O'Malley is a photographer in northern Virginia who specializes in pet portaits, event photography and nature photography. The world is a beautiful place, from the tiniest plants and bugs to sweeping landscapes. I love to share that beauty and the sense of wonder it inspires in me.
I am also a devotee of the magnificent Irish Wolfhound and create digital art based on some of my photographs of Wolfhounds. Each year I donate one or two canvas pieces to the joint Irish Wolfhound Club of America/Irish Wolfhound Foundation auction at the national specialty show to help support the IW community.
I also take pictures every week for my local animal shelter, of any and all types of pets. Not all of these rise to the level of 'art,' but they help animals in need find a home. And some of my favorite images through the years are now black and white canvasses decorating the walls of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, welcoming guests and reminding them of the beauty and variety in the pets who have temporarily found themselves homeless over the years.
