I'm 20 years old and have just recently graduated from Florida School of the Arts in Palatka Florida with a Fine Arts degree. I have always loved to draw since I could hold a pencil. When I turned 9, I began to draw portraits. I drew all the time! Until my senior year of high school, I was self taught. My senior year, I studied under Connie Shannon, an amazing artist. Then I got accepted at Florida School of the Arts where I studied under Charles Marsh, David Oulette, and Michael Burban. I began painting only after going to FloArts. I received the 'Artist of the Year' award my last semester there. Now I am finding galleries, doing commissions, and teaching private lessons. I also will do commissions and portraits: peoples, homes, or pets. I would only need an image sent by email to work from.
Beauty, grace, and mystery define my works. I endeavor to capture the beauty and grace of life with a touch of mystery that invites the viewer to linger, muse, and explore. As I transfer the images in my mind onto paper or canvas with vibrant color and flowing lines, excitement overwhelms me. I feel caught up in the creation of another realm that others can experience. With every stroke, my emotions come alive and I find myself within my work, sensing smells, feeling textures, listening to the sounds around my subject. That's why I enjoy painting and drawing figures in costume or in interesting settings. The figure in itself is beautiful and graceful. Elegant clothing, accessories, and backdrops enhance the beauty and grace of the figure, creating mood and mystery. I hope everyone who views my pieces will experience the beauty and the mystery in my works.
