Melissa A Benson - Fine Artist
My name is Melissa A Benson of Ranting Centaur Studios. I am a fantasy illustrator and fine artist with a colorful, realistic style working mostly with a mixed media of watercolor dyes, and color pencils. My black and white work is high contrast multi-weight graphite pencil. I also work in oil.
I specialize in anthropomorphic creatures and people in natural and historic settings. My recent work has been commissions for clients who want portraits of their role playing characters. I often incorporate Celtic designs.
I am best known in the gaming industry for creating powerful and imaginative illustrations for many top collectible card game (CCG) publishers. I have worked with Wizards of the Coast, White Wolf Publishing , Iron Crown Entertainment's, Black Dragon Press and Z-Man Games & others.
