Art is my passion.
My watercolors offer a signature in each piece that comes from a unique take on my environment. For as long as I can remember I have created some form of art. It mimics life's little pleasures and emotions. With each passing year my skills have improved and been refined. But back in the day I was not ashamed to put my immature work out there.
My medium is watercolor and I work in a very tight manner unlike other watercolorists. The brush strokes are precise and distinctive.........very deliberate. The colors are vivid and primary. I've tried to 'loosen up' in the passed few years though. There are not many shades and shadows in my paintings which suggests the feel of folk art. Many times the pictures look 'flat'. The images draw a fine line between the looseness of watercolor and the preciseness of illustration or cartooning. What can I say? It's my style!
If ever you have watched a cat sleep in the warm sun or waved good-bye to a child as they go off on a school bus you will feel a connection to my art work. Each image tells a story which is part of the thread that creates the lighter side of life. I've been told that my work makes people smile. Isn't that what life is all about?
