Hi, and welcome to my world of art. I am looking forward to having some fun with painting. After many years of working I am now retired and I have the time to devote to art. My love for Art goes back to when I was young and I have been drawing and painting for a long time. I have some formal training, I took art classes when I was in grade school and high school. I composed scenes for our school plays and bulletin boards. I also attended Faulkner State College studying commercial art. I have had some lessons and attended workshops. I continue to attend art classes and workshops to build on my knowledge in order to achieve a higher level of painting skills. I am fortunate to live in Fairhope AL, a city that promotes art. I have access to local artists and galleries. We have all phases of the art world here. I have tried many styles of painting, as well as many different techniques. I have studied how others paint, but now, I am developing my own style and putting to use all the great knowledge I have gained from my experiences.
I recently had several of my art Works voted into the Juried Art Show at the Fairhope, Alabama Art Center, Spring and Summer Art Exhibit. I also recently sold several of my Works from the members sales Gallery at the Fairhope Art Center. I have had my art placed in various Businesses around Fairhope for the Art and about program to promote all art.
I try to paint each day, but I don't always have the time. I like to paint the bold and brighter colors of nature. I have painted with Acrylic and Oil, I favor the oil paint's do to there versatility. I have also experimented with Water Colors. I am inspired by Nature and the works of many of the great artist. Each day is a new adventure and a open window to the art world to look into.
