Michelina E. Croteau
A graduate of the UNH, Michelina Evangelista Croteau has painted for years the landscape of the NH seacoast and also themes inspired by her Italian and Spanish heritage. Her work are part of private collections in Italy and in the States. She has exhibited her works in many art shows and auctions abroad and in NH. Posters of her works are available on Art.com. In 2006 the artist was chosen by the jury of the Italian Association of Painted Villages to paint a door-mural on the Italian Riviera. There she was awarded the crystal plate award “Le tre Fontane “ from the ASSOCIATION “ Friends of Valloria”. The theme of her door-mural “Origami for Peace” was inspired by a Japanese legend which says that dreams come true if one makes a thousand of Origami-cranes. The poster of “Origami for Peace” can be seen on Art.com The 100 painted doors of Valloria ,Italy were also featured in the Italian Television and in numerous European magazines. A festival is held in Valloria every summer to celebrate the 100 door-murals and the open-air museum can be visited any time of the year.
