In high school, I had a creative writing assignment that was coming due. Unfortunately, I had pretty much waited to the last minute to pull something together and then as luck would have it, we got snowed in and school was closed for the rest of the week (you've got to love Michigan winters!). My best friend (also my assignment partner) and I decided to take advantage of the freshly fallen snow and figured pictures are worth a thousand words, or at the very least several, double spaced pages. So, after climbing out of a window to get out of the house, we headed out into basically hip deep snow and I just started shooting. With photos we were able to limit the amount of verbiage we had to come up with and 'Snow Days' was created. We ended up receiving an A+ for the assignment and I found myself hooked on photography.
As life would have it, I took a long hiatus from my newly discovered hobby and it wasn't until 2002 that I actually started getting back to working and practicing the craft. In 2004, my husband and I embarked on 'his dream' adventure, buying a Nordhavn trawler and living aboard for the next two years. The opportunities for photographing the sea, sun and surf were endless.
As a newbie to North Idaho, I am excited about the opportunities and challenges for capturing the intense beauty of the surrounding area and honing my skills as a photographer. CONTACT ME DIRECTLY FOR PURCHASE OF SIGNED PRINTS!!!
