I began painting and developing my style in the late 1970’s while working and attending Georgia State University evenings. I participated in local region art shows and festivals, talking with other artists about styles and techniques. My work frequently received first place and best of show ribbons, and were featured on a local Georgia Magazine, Brown’s Guide to Georgia, from 1979 through 1989. My paintings have been purchased for corporate and private collections with multiple paintings purchased by private collectors.
During the 1990’s I focused on my professional working career, and stopped painting. I started drawing and painting again, late 2010 and have been reconnecting with my style and subjects. I enjoy working principally in watercolor as to me, that medium, is more forgiving. I also enjoy using egg tempera.
I just recently retired from my professional career, and picked up brushes and watercolor again, attempting to reconnect with what I’ve always enjoyed. Simply, I love to draw and paint, and paint subjects I see around me, attempting to catch the viewer’s eye with color, form, simple and complex compositions. My subjects are taken from local scenes and experiences.
I appreciate you viewing my work and appreciate any comments you might have.
