A self taught artist born and raised in Fresno and Kerman California. Focuses on realism with a twist of fantasy. Definitely not the ordinary, she inputs her own style to anything thats thrown to her. Started drawing at age 7 and is influened by her Mexican heritage.
Growing up in the small town of Kerman, CA, Mireya being the youngest child of three and the only girl amongst two older brothers, often found herself following her brothers who are artists as well. She instantly became attracted to art and began by tracing the characters on her school assignments.
In high school she found every opportunity to take art class. She began getting into graffiti in 9th grade and portraits in 10th. She would draw anything for anyone in school who would ask for a drawing.
Mireya later went on to get married at the age of 17 and stopped drawing for a while focusing on adjusting to married life.
Her husband being in the military later went on to deploy and that is when she found her art again to keep her occupied.
She has not stopped since then. She preffers dark, and eerie pieces. Shes mostly known for her day of the dead pieces and her portraits.
'I am an artist in every single way, there are three things I love more than anything, my family, my job, and my artwork. No one can take that from me, my art will live beyond my years, and that is what mostly matters to me...that long after im gone my work will speak for me, not my relatives or friends but the one thing I am the closest to...art.'- Mireya Vera
