Mollie Erkenbrack was born and raised in Texas and spent over 25 years as an illustrator and graphic artist in Oklahoma while dreaming of becoming a painter. In the later part of her graphic arts career she started challenging herself to paint more and started entering art shows and festivals. Realizing that her work was striking a cord with a lot of people, winning awards and selling well, she ultimately took early retirement from the newspaper she worked at and moved to Montana where her daughter and family lived. There she became represented by Gallery 16 in Great Falls where her paintings have continued to sell well and she's been invited to participate there in shows such as the C.M. Russell Masters in Miniature Show and Sale and The Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art's Annual Dinner/Auction and Annual Christmas Collection holiday sale. In 2006 she moved to California and then, back to Oklahoma in November, 2007 where she continues to pursue a career in fine art.
'Painting is my passion now. I feel art is like an organic part of my being that continues to grow and change. It's as if I've only taken a few steps in a long and amazing journey and can hardly wait to see where the rest of the trip leads me. I hope my paintings touch a few people along the way.'
