Local artist Monica Veraguth is displaying new works of art at Mugby Junction throughout August and September at their Huff Street location. A variety of subjects are presented, including Winona area landscapes, regionally inspired landscapes, along with a small selection of expressionistic pieces. Mugby Junction is located at 451 Huff Street across from Winona State University. Moody and mysterious, Veraguth’s paintings often feature exaggerated light and overemphasize brushstrokes to create landscapes that stir emotion. Striking contrast is prevalent throughout her artwork, as it creates substantial depth that is very important in her work. Simplistic scenes are the most captivating; moonlit shadows or an early morning mist are divine. Artwork on display, along with other works can also be viewed online at www.facebook.com/fineartbymonicaveraguth. Questions regarding current inv...
