Painting the Old, Beautiful, & Disappearing Florida is my passion.
One summer long ago on Nantucket, and inspired by that lovely island, I began to paint. In the Fall, I stood by a river in Massachusetts and painted my first commissioned work -- a turn-of-the-century hydropower plant a friend has restored into a self-contained micro-brewery. My first 'plein air' work, it hangs in his living room outside Boston. I was on my way!
Far and wide I have travelled, always with my sketchbook and paint box. Paintings of the places and people are the backbone of my learning. Many artists have guided and influenced me.

Now I am settled in St. Augustine, Florida. At the Art Association's Monday Night Sketch Group, I have grown as a figure painter. I am a charter member of PAASA, Plein Air Artists of St. Augustine. We paint in the open air at local landmarks twice a month.
Plein air paint outs have been helpful in developing style and confidence, as well as growing a network of friend artists.

Aviles Gallery is home to my work now. Five of us artists founded the gallery and have enjoyed much success. It seems, even in this difficult economy, people want the beauty of original fine art in their homes. It truly lights the way. I am humbled and honored when a patron trades his hard earned money for the fruits of my labor. And it happens frequently. Our gallery makes me so happy.
Locally, my paintings have hung at our Art Association, Mullet Beach Gallery, Aviles Street Gallery, Island Fine Art in Crescent Beach, GOLA in Flagler Beach, Amici's Italian Restaurant, and Zhanras Arts & Eats. Melrose Bay Gallery and Bellamy Road Gallery represent me in Melrose, FL. My works hang on the walls of patrons, relatives, and friends in France, Germany, Italy, Canada, the Virgin Islands, and the U.S.A.
These books have lighted my way:
