The story of how I came to be here today starts with my wife. For her 40th birthday, she decided that she would like a 'good' camera. She wanted to be able to get some decent pictures of our daughter, who at age 17 was down to her last 2 seasons as a competitive dancer. So for her 40th bithday, I bought her a Nikon DSLR camera. We were both going to learn how to use the camera, so we attended all of the free photography classes that were offered with the purchase of the camera. I think this is about the point when she decided that she could get pictures that she was satisified with, just by keeping the camera on the auto settting. I however, was on a quest, to figure out how to use the camera to its fullest capability, and how to get those pictures of our daughter dancing on stage, taken from a distance in a dark auditorium, without using a flash. I spent hours searching for information on how to achieve this. I read everything I could find online. My wife bought me books and magazines on digital photography. I was successful, and was able to get some really good photos of our daughter dancing. Our daughter is now grown, and living out on her own, and that's when my interest turned to landscape and still life photography. I feel like I am on a never-ending quest now, to get the perfect shots. I still read every bit of information I can find on digital photography, and I am constantly practicing my techniques. So somewhere along the way, my wife's birthday present became my hobby and my passion. And somewhere along the way, her camera became my camera. She comes with me on most of my shoots, and she helps me by holding equipment when I need her to. She tells me she doesn't mind, she says she just enjoys spending time toghether with me in the great outdoors, and looks forward to giving me her opinions on which photos are the keepers. So thousands of photos later, I would like to share my best of the best with you, I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I've enjoyed taking them.
