Patty uses many different techniques like pencil, acrylics, oil, china and she loves to make portraits, landscapes, murals (trompe l'oeil) and illustrations. But her favorite is close-up, expecially the eyes and the hats.
When she creates the form and the shape on her canvas she feels an intense emotion.
Most of her paintings are pure imagination, like the 'Ladies' close-ups, but she can also reproduce exactly from a photo, e.g. her 'Mona Lisa' or 'The Lady with an Hermine'.
3 years ago she had a terrible car accident in which her right arm and hand were badly damaged (being right-handed!!). She still does not have al the sensations back in her hand, and the mobility in her arm is very limited. For 7 months the right arm was completely paralyzed because of nerve damage, and she was obliged to learn to do everything with the left hand. She restarted painting again to demonstrate to herself that she will overcome this.
