My work has been described by a number of people as being painterly. Ultimately, I feel at home with the results that emerge from painting in this way. I like the dichotomy of applying loose brush work to linear subjects, with the aim of producing something slightly unexpected for the viewer.
Reflecting on my art provides me with a relaxing way to realise small improvements or to exercise my imagination, planning future works.
As my mental bond develops with the painting, the title emerges; I never know what a painting will be called when I start it. All of my titles are born from the connection that I get from studying the art, thinking about the context of the subject and what it means to me.
I hope that you can make a connection with my work too.
