My name is Pavel Bendov. I am a New York City based photographer and I specialize in architecture, landscape, and still life photography. I was raised in Belarus and I emigrated to the United States in 2010.
I remember how excited I was when I saw the streets of New York City for the very first time. It was exhilarating and I desired to capture every sensation that surrounded me. It was an incredibly unique feeling, the kind you get when you discover an entirely new world.
I wanted to shoot as much of my surroundings as possible and so, I explored every street in Manhattan in an attempt to capture interesting moments. This is how I began to learn the art of street photography. I wandered through an endless number of city streets trying to find something captivating and I shot hundreds of pictures, deleted them, and started all over again.
Only in New York can one find so many contrasting styles of architecture crowding one city block. It was then that I began to experiment with taking photographs of the mesmerizing architecture that enveloped this beautiful city. It took me about a year or so to learn how to shoot what I really wanted my photographs to show, which is around the same time that I began to develop my own unique style. I particularly enjoy shooting modern architecture in every detail. I am very passionate about showing my audience how beautiful and different every angle could be depending on perception.
