I am an Artist working with watercolors. Born in the coal mine region of Pennsylvania and eventually settling into picturesque Bucks County, Pennsylvania area with it's reputation for numerous well known, professional Playrights, Artists, Musicians and artistic folks in the likes of famous photographer Jack Rosen, playwright Oscar Hammerstein, Bandleader Paul Whiteman, Children's illustrator Dorothy Grider, artist Selma Burke and furniture designer George Nakashima to mention only a small few of a very long impressive list. Even Abbie Hoffman lived in Bucks County for a time while he was helping in preserving the Delaware River.
So living in an area replete with so much talent with incredible artistic endeavors and creation, I could not help being influenced to be creative in some fashion. I choose watercolor painting since I very much enjoy working with the natural flow of the paints and the ability to paint with various detail, modes and atmosphere. The available hues, layering, texturing and realism watercolor paints present are exciting for me and my palette.
We have traveled to many states and countries where art was abundant and exciting subject matter was available to those who cared. So I have taken much in the way of painting instruction and observation along the way, absorbing all the ideas, details and techniques possible. All of this is reflected in the paintings I create. I very much enjoy creating new art pieces, sometimes working late into the night in my third floor studio of our farm house, listening to some soft Jazz, Big Band or Classical music and even perhaps sipping a little white wine on occasion. While I paint many subjects, a good deal of my paintings are scenic and landscape including domestic and international city and town scapes, farm structures and sunrises and sunsets.
Please enjoy visiting my Watercolor Paintings. Both prints and original paintings are available for purchase. Thank you for shopping.
