I have always had an interest in the expression of Art; oil is my medium of choice. Although I think in terms of freedom and artistic license; I adhere to a limited palette as a challenge to color mixture and purity of color, (I basically use the same color palette for all paintings). I subscribe to the color theory of Earth, Water, Air and Fire as inspiration in my paintings. I have no formal training I am developing I surmise, “my own style and feel.” I’m currently studying and collaborating with local Artisans such as respected artist Linda Weatherspoon and Danny McLaughlin and others to further my art and style,
My mentor was renown Artist Jim Horton, I am a founding member of the Jim Horton Memorial Painting Association. I am currently exhibiting in the hottest and latest Art Venue ART BURGER SUSHI in Myrtle Beach, SC. ART BURGER SUSHI supports local Artisans currently also some of my original art can be found in various design houses throughout the Myrtle Beach Area.
I have various influences although I gravitate towards Impressionist, Italian Renaissance as well as the Romantic period paintings. I think of my style as loose and free, I work from rough composition for the sake of freedom and artistic restraint. I hope to convey this freedom and expression in my Art all the while capturing the essence of subject and matter. Please feel free to contact Phil at:
