Phyllis J. Barrett “Kiki”, an Ohio native, currently enjoys Westlake, Ohio in the summer and when the weather turns frosty heads to her home away from home in St. Petersburg, FL.
Serious study at the Westlake School of Portraiture launched her artwork into a professional career. Progressing in the mediums of charcoal, pastel, and oil she's realized her lifetime desire. Phyllis is also an accomplished watercolor artist; where in this medium she freely expresses her thankfulness in God’s creations. She credits looking closely into her reference material as a challenge, one worth striving for to produce “Show Stopping Work”.Completing commissions to the clients greater expectations, a portrait of a loved one or expansive landscape, is her constant goal.
Exhibiting in Ohio and in Florida is an honor and meeting new people with varied interest in the arts is a continuing learning endeavor. She is an active member of Suntan Cultural Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Fl. and has judged and been awarded merits in several Tampa area shows.
