Photography became a good past time for me when I was a kid. Granted I had a cheap camera but loved taking pictures of activities of my sisters and the animals we took care of as we grew up. Once I graduated high school I went into the military and that is where I bought my first professional camera….not digital. From one location to another I would take pictures to see how my camera worked and what I could do with it.
Once I hit my final duty station I started playing sports. From basketball to coed softball then finally to playing football. In 1998 I started playing women's flag football. Found that I loved that sport more than the others. In 2000 Washington DC had there very first women's tackle football….DC Divas. I played for 5 years with them and decided to move back to flag football. I currently still play flag football and like to photograph games that I do not play in.
Knowing the game makes it easier for me to figure out where my camera will be place for the best shots. Sports is not the only photos I take…I also like to take long walks to see what other interesting things I can capture that catch my eye.
