Hi, my name is Renee Perran and Iím a Colorado native. I currently live in Loveland, CO with my awesome husband and two amazing sons who inspire me every day. My parents helped foster and encourage my love for art at an early age. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil in my little hand and had big dreams of working for Disney. I remember one year for Christmas, when I was about ten years old, my parents bought me my first easel. I sat at that thing for hours on end, cartooning and trying to perfect my drawings. Over the years, my interests evolved into a love for classical art, sculpture, architecture, photography, scratchboard, and abstract art.
Some of my favorite artists are Michelangelo, Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, and Ansel Adams. I have taken several art classes, but am largely self-taught. I enjoy experimenting with many different techniques and mediums and am always striving to be a better artist and push my creativity to new levels. I love taking pictures! Photography has become part of my everyday life. I take my camera everywhere I go and enjoy snapping photos of just about anything. Some of my favorite subjects to photograph are trees, wild animals, flowers, landscapes, people, sculptures, metal, and architecture.
This year, I became a member of the Loveland Photographic Society (LPS) and I love it! In LPS, I have received 8 ribbons from the monthly competitions (4 Best of Show and 4 Award of Merit). My Nature's Eye 2 photo was on display at the Michener Library on the UNC campus in Greeley, as part of this year's LPS Photo Exhibition. Recently, I also became a member of National Geographic Your Shot, which has been a lot of fun for me!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page and look through my gallery. I really hope you enjoy it and please visit again soon as I post new work frequently.
