The overriding theme of my painting over the years has always been a contemplative study of the world. In the landscape work, I choose to portray subjects which speak of stillness, serenity and frequently, solitude.
My floral paintings are an affirmation of life, both in its strength and fragility.
By examining the wide view of the landscape or flowers and plants at close range, I have discovered natural rhythms and born witness to life changing with the seasons. In focussing on the specific and everyday, the subjects are transformed into something enduring and universal.
