Robert currently resides in Greenville, S.C. He was born and raised in New Jersey on the 'shore' on Raritan Bay directly accross from Staten Island, N.Y. and with Lower Manhattan in sight. Bob (preference) went to college at Newark State College in Union N.J. and studied European and Russian history. While at college he also took courses in various art mediums and decided that watercolor suited him best.
Bob concentrated on his carreer as a school manager and didn't pick up his brushes again until the early 80s after taking a course under S.C. artist Johnny Wine. Bob and Johnny became close and began travelling to outdoor art shows and various competitions. Bob has won several 'best in Show'awards and was selected for the Springs Mill's travelling art show in 1983. Bob was also a member of the York County Art Guild and served as President one year. Bob continued his association with the Guild until moving to Hickory, N.C. in 1985. In 1991 he and his wife Cherrie moved to Greenville, S.C. so that Cherrie could look after her elderly mother.
It wasn't until 2008 that Bob picked up the brushes again after attending the Greenville Art Commision 'Open Studios' walking tour where he met Ashley Kirby. Bob studied with Ashley for a year refining his skills and tecniques.
