Robert Myers was born in San Francisco and raised there and in Chicago. He attended Tulane university, California College of Art, Otis College of Art & design.
He has illustrated for Playboy, Sport, Disney adventures magazine, AutoWeek and others. He illustrated 'Come Back Alive' for Doubleday (Random House). He also illustrated 'Surfer Girl-A guide to the surfing life' by Sanoe Lake, published by Little Brown.
Myers paintings at first concentrated on oversize baseball cards from the 1950s. He showed these at OK Harris in New York in 1989. He showed more of thes in Los angeles at Art Dimensions and Sports and Entertainment Gallery. Moved by the outrageousness of the OJ Simpson trial, he produced a 13 panel work consisting of 6' x3' oils contiguously grouped together. He has since moved to painting sensuous figures in allegorical motifs tinged with historical, political and erotic content.
