I am a self-taught photographer learning as I go. I have lived in several states and now reside in Utah. I am a fan of Ansel Adams. I love this quote from him, 'You don't take a photograph, you make it' This is the true essence of photography and understanding this will make you a better photographer.
I have recently discovered ' intimate landscape' photography. This term was attributed to Eliot Porter, a pioneer of early color landscape photography. My personal interpretation means seeing the beauty in the parts of the whole and capturing that so others can enjoy it. I have been doing this all along, without realizing it. This type of photography forces me to slow down and find the 'hidden beauty' in something by stopping and looking.
