I came to Alaska in January 1975 with my wife Pam. We started out in North Pole. My dream was to come up to the last frontier and homestead a place, build a log cabin and live off the land. Our family started a few years later with a son Jeremiah and his sister, Tallie. Finally after four years the opportunity to build our homestead cabin came and we built by the beautiful Mt. McKinley and later another one up north on the Teklanika river. I really wanted the Alaska experience so I enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and even a little gold mining. Once I started photography I could share all that Iíve seen with others. I got my name Snappy Ron because I snap a lot of pictures. Not only in Alaska but anywhere I travel. I simply strive to share nature with you as I experience it. Iíve never had formal training in photography, but it is my passion. I hope you enjoy the authentic moments in nature as I do.
