Sally Phillips Buffington / Principal Artist
Grumbacher Gold Medalist
Sally Phillips Buffington originals and Limited Edition lithographs are in private and public collections across the Untied States of America and also in South Africa. Sally specializes in portraiture, each hand painted either in oil on linen or European pastel. Her paintings have been lauded by the press and the public for the amazing reality of her portraits with an incredible use of color and mastery of anatomy. The animals in her portraits look as if they are about to breathe. Her equine paintings are breath taking.
One of her commissions was General H. Norman Schwarzkopf who spoke of her amazing technique using her little finger in a speech he was giving at the Houston Astrodome. The honorable Henry Cisneros said his official Mayoral portrait for the City of San Antonio was better than any of him hanging in Washington.
Her Limited Edition prints are gorgeous and varied, but all from award winning paintings. The 'Orange Beach Series' was in Southern Living and Coastal Living and have sold in all regions of the United States, South Africa and Europe.
Sally's other passion is the Olympic sport of Three Day Eventing in which she campaigns her upper level horse, Absolut IV, at the Intermediate Level.
