My name is Saxon T. Bisbee and I am an amateur artist from Western Pennsylvania. I have been drawing ships, landscapes, and many other things since I was little. Since college, I have gotten into creating designs, a few landscapes, and several scale ship drawings on the computer using Microsoft Paint. I like using this often-neglected program because it still seems like I am drawing something--there are no easy shortcuts on it. My pride and joy is the collection of Civil War Confederate ironclad profiles drawn to scale using historical and archaeological sources. I have endeavored to make these the most accurate reconstructions possible, and as I am a maritime archaeologist in training I have had access to many sources and have studied these little-known (other than CSS Virginia [ex-USS Merrimack] of course) vessels exhaustively. It has been my goal to present the fruits of my research to a wider community of historically-minded people. Anyone who has questions regarding my use of sources can feel free to contact me.
Note: Having been created on Paint, my designs are admittedly slightly pixellated, but I feel that it is not noticeable from average viewing distance and the printing process may soften this somewhat.
