Seres Gallery is a New York and Beijing based gallery specializing in ancient and contemporary Chinese art. “Seres” – the ancient Greek word to identify people from “the land where silk comes from” – was created during Silk Road period when western world became aware of Chinese culture and arts for the first time. The gallery’s mission is to become an authoritative bridge between Chinese cultural arts and the west.
The gallery presents a large collection of perfectly recreated ancient Chinese paintings and calligraphies, covering masterpieces from the Sui Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty (581-1911). Perfect recreation techniques enable artists represented to reveal the great art history of China to the world while protecting the original pieces. Seres Gallery will also exhibit art works of Chinese contemporary artists, and is one of the essential destinations for all those interested in Chinese cultural arts.
