To learn a secret that is hidden in plain sight, to discover something new that has always been there….these revelations are what I try to capture in my sketches and paintings, then hope that others will see them. I like sharing these experiences but what is even better is when a viewer finds something in my work that I did not realize was there ….another hidden secret!
Born in Indiana, I spent most of my adult life in Wisconsin. I am self taught with the exception of some art classes in Mesa Community College that I have been enrolled in the last couple of years; watercolor and life drawing.
After retirement we moved to Arizona a few years ago and I am delighted with “The West” as a backdrop for my brush and palette and grateful to finally have time to paint as much as I like. I think I prefer oils but am currently showing work that includes acrylics paintings, water colors and pastels as well. I like doing figurative work and portraits.
