Sheila Preston-Ford uses rich deep colors with high contrast between light and dark. Nature is her main inspiration in art, through its vibrant color palette as well as the varied textures. She creates aesthetic images, both realistic and surrealistic, that instill an emotion or capture a meaningful moment. Her subjects are mainly wildlife and people. Her latest works have an emphasis on motherhood and the innocence of youth. Sheila works mostly in watercolors, but enjoys other mediums as well, such as designing scroll saw patterns and painting large-scale murals. Her most recent mural is a 1900’s saloon scene on a shed across from the old TJ’s restaurant in Anderson, CA.
Sheila Preston-Ford lives in Anderson, California with her husband and their three children. They are a creative bunch that share a love for exploring nature and are a constant source of inspiration to her.
