Allowing myself to work freely is how I produce expressive artwork. I have been drawn especially to artists Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Edgar Degas, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. I have had the pleasure of viewing each of these artists works at the National Art Gallery in Ottawa in the summer of 2008. For the past several years I have been the art coordinator for the annual Hampton Canada Day Art Festival in which my work has been featured. Over the years I have been invited to take part in many group shows and benefit auctions. These groups and benefit auctions include the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation's Annual Take-a-Seat Chair-ity event; Festival of Trees (in support of the Saint John Regional Hospital); Aids Saint John; Market by the Sea; RNS Annual Spring Art Show & Sale; Bloomin' Artists (in support of the John Peters Humphrey Foundation); Silver Falls Art Show & Sale; Take Home a Nude Fundraiser and St. David's United Church Annual Art Show & Sale. In 2006 my mixed media painting, entitled 'Six in the Garden', took second place award during Heron Bay's MAX 2 juried art competition. Then again in 2007 I was awarded an honorable mention at the MAX 3 juried event for another mixed media painting. Both of these works have since been sold to private collectors.
