Smith Catholic Art is a family art studio and apostolate begun in 2001. It is in part a response to Pope John Paul II's 1999 Letter to Artists and is our endeavor to make visual some of the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith.
The primary goal of Smith Catholic Art is to create beautiful, contemporary, Catholic art - honoring and building on tradition, relevant and aware of current sensibilities, always in accordance with Church Teaching, and created for love of God and our faith. In addition to this, we work to create new alliances and build dialogue through our website, blog, and direct contact.
Our focus is original artwork - primarily painting and drawing. We happily make prints available of some of our pieces, but we encourage the use of original art, particularly in churches and other public display. Please visit smithcatholicart.com to read more about us and our work. -CD Smith
